“It is time to begin waking our sleepers and telling them the news of The People’s transformation and where we fit into Creator’s larger plan for all the people. Go gently to the Elders who have fallen asleep and forgotten our ways. Speak with love and encouragement to the Mothers and Fathers who are raising the children of the 8th Generation. Most importantly, listen to the children and let them lead the way, for they are our future. They hold the wisdom, the creative energy, and the ability to harness the Universal Law of multiplication in the palms of their hands.” – Eagle

In the three decades since the Fifth Generation began rebuilding Native Turtle Island culture after generations of removal, genocide and terror of our people, hundreds of thousands of people have been touched and healed by the powerful integration of Indigenous Traditional Medicine and Healing into the larger culture of North America.

Eagle shows us that the time has come for The People to expand our good works in leading this healing journey for countless souls in who have been wounded in heart, body, mind, and spirit through the processes of contact and settlement.

We acknowledge that today’s people who follow the Christian faith are deeply sorry for the actions of their ancestors, and are hungry for a way to make amends with Indigenous people.

Native American ChurchAnd this is very good because many Indigenous people and Descendants are walking with one foot in the Christian church and one foot on the Red Road with The Great Spirit.

Many of us believed for most of our lives that we had to choose between Jesus and our Indigenous relationship with the Great Spirit. Between our identity in the “white world,” and our authentic, spiritual, eternal identity that is made up of many facets, and which has been shaped by the many cultures of our ancestors – Indigenous and non-Indigenous.

We now know that the good teachings of Jesus and the Christian faith are exactly the same as our Ancestor’s wisdom.

Eagle on TruthAnd it is this truth that will bring us together for healing. It is essential to our healing as a community and as individuals that we all (and each) actively participate in the process of forgiveness and amends-making, publicly and in our private lives.

This process will reconcile us to one another as a community, and will create a way for the shattered pieces of our Spiritual identity to be gathered, healed, and reconciled within ourselves.

Here in Toronto, the beautiful Land of the Dish with One Spoon, we are working on many programs that will allow the true followers of Christ to work with Turtle Island Natives to share our culture, provide for our people, and create opportunities for all.

This is Hummingbird Medicine, the beautiful Naanookaazoo in the Ojibwe language.

Hummingbird SunflowerNannookaazoo’s Medicine is a great gift of love from the Divine – it is the power of love, peace, prosperity, and abundance – that can only come from working with others in love, faith, trust, and compassion.

We will be sharing the messages of Naanookaazoo here on Bird Clan Messenger, so the blessings of the community-building, communications, and fund-raising ideas can be shared with all the people and organizations who would like to participate in this beautiful work of the Great Awakening.

It is my honour to be your messenger.
