The First Nations have always believed that a feather from a flyer holds all of the medicine of that flyer, that whomever possesses this feather will be blessed with that medicine.

The Feather will only surrender it’s power if you have achieved hollow bones and you will use this spiritual power in a responsible way, for the spirit of this flyer will not use you as a vessel if you do not live your life in beauty and in a sacred way.

There were a few ways when the recipient of a feather would be blessed with this feather, it could be that the flyer placed the feather only for you on your path, or because of the great service you have humbly given to your people and they awarded you with a feather.

_20180507_101654For to gain the feather in a deceitful way, or to seek the feather for yourself when you are not deserving of it, or killing the flyer for its feather rather than the spirit of that feather will not surrender the medicine to you, and in instances have opposite results of the medicine working against you.

If you see a dead flyer and want to take it’s feathers then you must first pray to the spirit of that flyer and leave an offering before you take the feather or feathers.
